The Mercury Awards were created in 1985 by U.S. Travel's National Council of State Tourism Directors (NCSTD) to recognize state and territory tourism offices for excellence and creative accomplishment in state/territory tourism marketing and promotion. The goal of the awards is to inspire the industry by showcasing outstanding work and support the continued development of imaginative and exciting marketing and promotion programs.
